TSI Video – NexView Web

TSI needed to create a web version of its popular NexView Windows application for viewing public transit video recordings. Trailhead architected an HLS-based streaming solution in a modern web app.

Project Background

TSI provides hardware (DVRs, sensors and connectivity) for Public Transit video recordings, and software to manage and configure devices as well as retrieve and view recordings and related data, stored in a proprietary file format. The windows client, while highly functional and well liked, needed to be made available in a web version, and be able to stream large amounts of high definition video from multiple cameras in a web standard format.

Trailhead started by creating a proof of concept demonstrating how the proprietary video data could be transmitted using HLS streams, for adaptive web based playback. In the MVP phase, Trailhead built an API and a modern web app that integrated with the existing back end database and logic, with a modern, web based user interface and new features, including a dashboard and an intuitive, card-based views. Huge interest from existing customers immediately resulted in demand for the implementation of full video playback and the full windows application feature set in the web version.

We initially approached Trailhead for a facelift of our Windows application, but were intrigued by Trailhead’s vision for a fully web-based solution. In a proof of concept, Trailhead was rapidly able to demonstrate how this would be architected using HLS streaming, and we loved the dashboard and user interface designs. Trailhead was able to independently design and build a whole web version of our flagship product that works with our existing database and logic, but lifts the user experience to the next level.

Montage Portal

Montage Furniture Services provides furniture protection plans and claims processing services to a wide selection of furniture retailers and consumers.

Project Background

Montage was looking to build a new web portal for both Retailers and Consumers, which would integrate with Dynamics CRM and other legacy systems. The portal needed to be multi tenant and support branding and configuration for different Retailers.
